Hammond Hill

Hammond Hill State Forest is an expanse of dense woodland on one of the many hills in southern Dryden. Its high altitude gives it a slightly different array of birds than other woodlands, and its distance from large population centers gives it a wild feeling that can be difficult to attain in most areas of the basin. Hammond Hill has numerous trails that offer excellent hiking and birding in the spring and summer and are popular for cross-country skiing in the winter.
